Our Nature Based Events with Oxford International Students 20014- 2019
Why We Do What we Do
Our work is informed and inspired by a diverse synergy of practices and is rooted in many years experience of working with people. We devise, create and manage a wide range of Pathways programmes, events and trainings for all ages and abilities,to enable people to find, cultivate and experience their own unique gifts and brilliance.
At the heart of our work is the core belief that each of us brings a potential in the form of a unique set of inner gifts.
our group Mentoring work is a shared activity where the group is held by two or more capable adults and encourages and allows a rich diversity of experience, connection to be shared.
By bringing our trials and tribulations to the group we learn to communicate , to be seen by others and to see others , to hear and be heard and to recognise the joys and challenges that every person experiences.
It is well known as Circle Time in schools, the 12 steps programmes use it, as does the way of council and group counselling.
We lean into the wisdom of the natural world, helping to faciltate encounters in and with nature.
This greater teaching which is for many of us abundantly accessible is simple and profound, yet so many of us have become disconnected from our natural connection and source.
Re sourcing and receiving nurturing in nature is often one of the most significant and healing aspects of our work with people.
Benefits of group mentoring
A shared experience and so reduces islolation.
Our work aims to support these gifts to shine and to be honed....and we know that this isn't always an easy ride!
We support people, whatever age, to cultivate inner resources to be drawn upon through life's triumphs and it's tragedies. Our work aims to empower, challenge and support people to cultivate and connect with their authentic experience of being a human being. Helping our young people to grow into self aware, secure, caring and effective people.
We believe that through participating and engaging with group mentoring for personal and character development work, we can become well resourced to have more of a positive impact both in our own lives and for the benefit of the wider community.
Ubunutu wisdom- 'I am me because of who we are'
Inside Out
We work with an 'inside out' approach as we believe that what we do is rooted in who we are, rather than our self identity being wholly focused on the 'what we do' and 'what have we achieved'. It is the 'who and how we are' which we conciously work with, rather than just focusing on 'what we have achieved' or that being the 'end goal' in life.
We practice leaning in to the 2 modes of being and doing.
Being Informs Doing:
Through our work we support people to develop and cultivate their own inner resources, resilience and personal insights and help people to see their life as a voyage of discovery and learning.
Trauma Informed Practice
We draw from a variety of trauma informed practices and research to help guide our work with people.. We particpate in ongoing CPD and keep up to date with current research on Polyvagal theory and trauma healing. Our work draws from well researched approaches to help support and guide individuals healing journey from traumatic events. ( see Resources tab)
Solution Focused:
We encourage and facilitate who ever we work with, whether they are adults or young people to achieve a healthy, holistic connection to themselves, each other, their communities and to nature through solution based enquiry.
